Hey Saybrook,

As you may know, Tuesday is election day. You can cast your vote at the New Haven Free Public Library (the site of last spring’s endorsement vote) from 6:00a-8:00p. The library is located at 133 Elm Street (pictured on the left), which is at the corner of Temple and Elm Streets. You can actually leave Saybrook, go vote, and be back in the best college at Yale within about 15 minutes. As a fellow Saybrugian, I would love to have your support.

In addition to voting in the aldermanic race, you can also cast your vote for mayor. Not only does casting your vote allow you to weigh in on some of the important issues that are being discussed in the city like school reform and sustainability, but it also shows people all across the city that Yale students care about New Haven and see themselves as residents of the city. So if you are free for 15 minutes during anytime on Tuesday, please go vote.

Finally, as all of you know, this is a difficult week for our community. In light of the death of Andre Narcisse, we should all remember to vigilantly care for our friends, our suitemates, and our classmates. Since many of us are away from our families and many of our friends, we are all that we have. Let’s appreciate the time that we have together.
